These are pictures of the 2nd rave, in Manchester. I loved this night for many reasons:

I did not have to work, first time in a year that I have just gone to a rave and not had to do anything

they had table football backstage

Backstage was in a car park that would go back to being a car park at 6am

The Manchester rave crew are really into dancing and having a wicked time, no hanging about on the sidelines looking cool, like the London crew, just straight into a wicked party

Really nice security with no attitude

Did I mention I did not have to work? :0)

This is what I wore to the 2nd rave, never managed to take picture of 1st rave outfit, it was based around another pair of Black Milk leggings though.

Peeping through the foliage, my car. Not really, I would need a lot more money than I have now to own that bad boy. Plus I cannot drive. Yet. Our Hotel upside down

Not really sure why, but this object d' art was on the wall of our hotel room. We gave it a little finishing touch of toilet paper, pretty much sums up how I felt about it.My brother from another mother up on stage doing his thing, killer bees style. The laser & sound engineering boys interface was always interesting.
This party was ace, a bit slower to get into the relaxed vibe, the London crew did have a dance when Aphex and Wisp played.

I worked most of the night, but still had an fresh time.

I love En Vogue. They were the best girl band of the 80s/90s in my world. Have you seen them today? Give them a google, they still look fresh.

My friend came round yesterday, and brought with her the genius idea of playing a word game where you remember songs with the word heart in the title, and then you change the word heart to anus.

We were amused for hours, obviously because we are both super mature. I would like to share with you some of our endeavours.

I am ashamed of myself. Blogging with the regularity that I do, and this is my first mention of Sun Ra.
Fail.
This film is deep, you need to see it I tell thee. What more do you want than: Black power, free jazz, Sci-Fi, politics and incredible fashion? This film has it all, the only thing wrong with it in my opinion, is that it is too short (82 minutes)

The plot goes like this: Sun Ra has been reported lost, nobody has seen him since his last European tour in 1969. This is because he has been travelling through space with his crew, the Arkestra. They find a planet suitable for the resuscitation of the black race.He then travels back and forth through time, using music as his mode of transportation. (Genius) He comes to earth to find people who want to travel through space with him, to live on the planet he found.

On one of his journeys back, he has a card game with the pimp overlord, to decide the fate of the black race. This overseer is Sun Ra's main enemy through the film.

The Overseer, incarnation of evil in the Black community who poses himself to be a community leader and a man of charity. But in fact, he is the tool of the power structure. Ra is also pursued by White government agents (presumably from FBI) who attempt to assassinate him. On the other hand, Jimmy Fey is representative of the Black people in entertainment industry and mass media.
