I have just finshed reading Peter Ackroyd's retelling of The Canturbury Tales. An excellent read, the stories are as relevant today as they were in the 12th century, and so full of wit. If, like me, you have no desire to get to grips with ye olde English, get Peter's version, a trusted academic doing all the hard work whilst leaving in all the good bits.
