I love William Blake. His art and poetry are fascinating to my mind. I am not religious,(firmly In the Dawkin's camp) but I really enjoy his representation and allegories of the spiritual world. His colour use is sublime I reckon, and his dedication to making his own colour pigments is lush to read about. Peter Ackroyd has written a really decent biography on Blake.
I am loving how Ackroyd has brought all the facets of Blake's character to life for me. Boss bedtime reading.
